Where Is Solano Grand? The Senja Close Site, Its Neighbours and Straight-Line Distances to Jelapang LRT and Bukit Panjang MRT
Solano Grand sits on the land parcel at Senja Close, on the northern edge of Bukit Panjang. It backs onto the Kranji Expressway (KJE) to the north and faces the Senja Close HDB blocks to the south. URA's project record links the Solano Grand name to the Senja Close site and to CDL (developer entity CDL Selesta Pte Ltd). The nearest train station is Jelapang LRT, about 300 m away in a straight line. Bukit Panjang MRT on the Downtown Line is about 1.0 to 1.1 km due south.
The site, edge by edge
HDB's location plan for the Senja Close tender outlines the parcel in red. Here is what the plan shows on each side:
- North: the Bukit Panjang North Park Connector, marked as under construction, and the Kranji Expressway beyond it.
- West: a strip marked as park, then HDB blocks 638 and 639.
- South: Senja Close itself, with HDB blocks 643 to 645 across the road.
- East: the turning circle at the end of Senja Close, a Chinese temple site marked as under construction, a drainage reserve and block 646.
Two plots on the plan are labelled as reserve sites for future high-rise development. One is across the KJE to the north-west. The other is south of the parcel, off Senja Link. HDB's notes on the plan say that every development and facility shown can change, so treat the plan as a guide to today's neighbours, not a promise about what will be built.
Traced from the plan's red outline, the parcel is about one hectare. It runs roughly 160 m from east to west and up to about 110 m from north to south, so its long sides face north and south.
Straight-line distances to stations
All figures below run from the nearest edge of the parcel to OneMap's point for each station, rounded. They are not walking distances. CDL has not announced where the gates will be, and station exits are not measured.
| Station | Line | Direction from the site | Straight-line distance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jelapang (BP12) | Bukit Panjang LRT | South-east | About 300 m |
| Senja (BP13) | Bukit Panjang LRT | South | About 650 m |
| Segar (BP11) | Bukit Panjang LRT | East | About 750 m |
| Bukit Panjang (DT1) | Downtown Line | South | About 1.0 to 1.1 km |
| Bukit Panjang (BP6) | Bukit Panjang LRT | South | About 1.2 km |
For daily food, Senja Hawker Centre at 2 Senja Close is about 200 m south-west of the parcel edge, measured the same way.
LTA describes the Bukit Panjang LRT as an 8 km line that links Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang estates to the North-South and Downtown Lines. LTA also says it is being renewed, with new trains, track and signalling. The Downtown Line starts at Bukit Panjang, and LTA describes it as a more direct route into the city for Bukit Panjang residents.
How the distances were measured
- The red boundary was taken from the vector lines in HDB's location plan PDF.
- The plan was fitted to map coordinates using six OneMap building points shown on it: blocks 638, 645, 646 and 647 Senja Close, Zhenghua Secondary School and West Spring Primary School. The fit agrees with the plan's own 200 m scale bar. Each control point lands within about 10 to 20 m of its OneMap position.
- Each distance is the shortest straight line from the traced boundary to the station's OneMap point. Measured from the middle of the site instead, every figure is about 50 to 70 m longer.
Expect an error of a few tens of metres. That is enough to compare stations, but not enough to time a walk.
What this means when you choose a stack
- North-facing units look over the park connector towards the KJE. If road noise matters to you, ask which stacks face north once CDL releases the site plan.
- South-facing units face Senja Close and the HDB blocks across it. They are also on the side nearest Jelapang LRT, the hawker centre and Bukit Panjang town.
- East and west ends face the temple site and the turning circle on one side, and the park strip on the other.
- Gates decide the walk. Jelapang lies south-east of the site, so a gate on the south or east side would make for a shorter walk than one on the north-west. Gate positions are not yet announced. Contact us and I will send them once CDL publishes the site plan.
What this means for a weekday commute
A Downtown Line commuter has two options. One is the LRT from Jelapang to Bukit Panjang. The other is getting to Bukit Panjang station, about a kilometre south, on foot or by bus. Do one test trip at your real departure time before you decide. If you mostly need the North-South Line, LTA describes the LRT as linking to it as well, so test that route too. None of these distances tells you anything about price, availability or completion dates.
For the map and the wider neighbourhood, see the Solano Grand location page. Unit layouts by facing will appear on the floor plans page once CDL releases them. Price status is on the price page, and the showflat page is the place to register for a viewing. It is also the best time to ask about the site model and the gate positions.
